Anyways, I will try to write a review as clear as possible from what I have experienced so far with this laptop Dell Inspiron i Pros: Processor: This one has a 5th generation Intel Core i3 and it is indeed a dual core processor, more than enough for most people, if one wants to play games or use more demanding applications then this might not be enough processing power.

Memory: 4 gigs of ram, it is upgradable by simply removing the cover with a screwdriver, just remember the rams specifications frequencies, voltages, type , this laptop supports up to 16 gigs of ram 2 slots. Audio: This one has an HD audio chip, fantastic sound. HDD: 1TB mechanical hard drive with decent write and read speeds, easy to replace by removing the cover screws. Display: A resolution display, colors are a little bit ”dead” once you first start the computer, but I ”managed to adjust them” in the graphics card setting, it has very good brightness intensity levels.

Battery: This one has a removable battery and not a sealed one which is great; this one last approximately 3. Keyboard: Feels and works great, the caps lock key lits on when pressed so one can know if it is activated; however the num lock key does not have that, so it is a little bit hard to tell if it was pressed and activated.

The other keys function well. Since this one has touch screen theres also the touch keyboard function as well. Cooling: This laptop is very quiet, and it does not warm very much at all, even with high performance settings.

Windows Most people are used to Windows XP and 7, so one may find it a little confusing to use but this laptop turns on and off very quickly even if this one does not come with a solid state drive. However like windows 8, some apps and programs may be a little too complicated to find and access, I recommend searching them first and them pinning to the start menu or the quick access or creating shortcuts for them.

Camera: It does the job. Graphic card: Intel HD series, a somewhat solid graphics card for everyday computing, more than enough I should say. Appearance: It looks very nice, and it’s matte not glossy so no fingerprints!

Cons: Read update 1 Touchpad: It sucks, this one didn’t come faulty, but as the other reviewer stated, most of the times it registers double clicks which is annoying and the zoom function activates very often when using this, so I highly recommend getting a mouse.

The optical drive, headphone port and the hdmi port all work flawlessly on my laptop, I have no complaints. USB ports: There are 3, one usb 3. SD card reader: Several ”disconnections” even by correctly inserting the card, most of the time it will not be recognized by the laptop, this problem is far more annoying than the usb ports, so I recommend using a usb sd card adapter.

I reverted back to the factory settings, and then tried to reinstall the latest drivers, and since then it has not ”died” on me. This problem should not occur on a new device such as this one. I had been using this laptop for about 2 weeks so take that in consideration. Hope this review helps! Update 1: After finding out on April 1st yes on that specific day , that an update had suddenly been downloaded on the background and was ready to be installed, I accepted, just to find out 2 hours later what the update was about it took that long to install and that.

You probably know what this new update is about, so I’ll just detail some things I had been observing on my laptop since. As I had mentioned on the cons sections, this laptop had some problems with the usb and sd card ports, but after this update I have not been having any problem at all with them! I don’t really know if the stock Windows that came with this laptop was not optimized for it or something like that, but it seems that after updating it, things are better.

Of course, the touchpad still isn’t the best out there, I am still recommending getting a mouse. Something that I am noticing though is that when using the laptop with and without the battery, the audio chip “behaves” differently in both situations, sometimes it lowers the volume while playing a song or another audio file for a very brief moment, it is not annoying at all for me as I don’t really find it as a con.

One last thing, I have mentioned on the pros sections that this laptop was very quiet and it doesn’t warm at all, well it still is very quiet, but now after the update when using the laptop for consecutive hours, it warms a little bit, not that much but ot is worthy to mention.

I’ll update after some time later. My main device is a chromebook that I love, but sometimes I’m forced to run Windows. Didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a laptop I would seldom use, but it seems Windows doesn’t support that use case. You need to run windows every day, so it can update all the time because that’s all it does. I hardly have any SW installed on this thing and it spends most of its time i.

Maybe an SSD would make that more tolerable, but with the hard drive in this thing it’s non stop pain. I think this will be the last Windows laptop I ever buy. Great computer for the price. LOVE the touch screen. Not sure how I’ve ever lived without it on a laptop. Graphics look great, software installs fine and overall it runs fast.

I actually bought a second one and gave this one to my employee since we both loved it so much. One person found this helpful. I have now bought 3 of these laptops in a year. I first bought 2 of them for my kids for gaming and school work about a year ago. They have worked great with no problems. Also these are the best priced laptops out there with a 15″ screen that are touch screen and the processor benchmark rating ranks higher then many laptops that cost a lot more.

The only negative thing I could say is the the styling of the laptop is kind of plain, but other then that it is a great laptop that I would highly recommend. Had some trouble getting it to stay connected to WIFI when I first set it up, but after restarting a couple of times I have had no more problems.

This is my 3rd Dell and have had no problems with any of them. Windows 10 isn’t that much different than Windows 7 so that has not been a problem for me. In fact some of the features are better. I’ve had nothing but problems with this computer.

Works perfect out of the box. Great value. Dell is always my first choice for computers.
